One of our clients recently demonstrated how this works at a summit meeting with their eleven partner companies: For the grand finale of the conference, we were privileged to organize an XXL Soapbox Challenge for the 140 participants.
Far away from the presentations, discussions, and figures of the previous days, 14 mixed teams dove headfirst into a creative exchange to design and build the best soapbox car in just 90 minutes.
The result: Beaming faces among the participants and a sense of unity from which the companies will benefit in the long term.
AWAY from the kit!
The key to a successful team event? Quality over quantity and full individuality instead of off-the-shelf events. In our Soapbox Challenge, there are no limits to creativity: instead of a boring pre-fabricated kit with step-by-step instructions, our participants receive their own workshop box with plenty of materials – and must build their individual soapbox car from scratch and completely independently.
No blueprint, no safety net. Just 90 minutes and a common goal: to build a functioning soapbox car that can win the race at the end.
“I have never experienced such a creative team challenge”
We couldn’t summarize it better than one of the enthusiastic participants. Immediately after the event, one of them approached our project manager, Marion Lenz, to say thank you – he said he had never before experienced such a creative, individual, and entertaining team event:
“Until now, I only knew soapbox events with prefabricated parts that were put together like a kit – of course, creativity and fun fall by the wayside there. It was all the cooler how individually we could design our own soapbox cars today!” said the participant.
Perfect organization in just two weeks
It wasn’t just the soapbox racers who stepped on the gas at this event: when we received the commission, we had barely two weeks to get everything off the ground – from detailed coordination with the client and the location to the materials.
Many providers would certainly hesitate if they had to organize such a large event in such a short time. But that is exactly where we show how we make the difference with over 20 years of expertise!
